Friday:

Suggestions for Research Topics:
- virtual travel with webcams
- anthropological study/observation of one or two webcams
- community or lonely souls: does visual communication work?
- 15 min. or a lifetime of fame: webcam-celebrities
- study of webcam technology (from low-res to high res)
- difference between audio communication (telephone), visual communication (skype) and coded communication (text messages)
- sex, sexuality and webcams (can we link this trend to any other trends in history? how did these fantasies and desires play out before the internet and webcams)
- the role mobile visual communication in Arab Spring revolutions and other current protests
The visual presentation can be a direct translation of the research content, but please avoid the powerpoint style, the more creative the better. You can use pre-recorded video clips, audio, text and of course live video, audio and text renderings.
